The Beatles: vita – opere – gruppo – storia

Beatles… un fenomeno immortale

Il famoso gruppo inglese nasce a Liverpool nel 1958.

In verita il vero punto di partenza fu il 6 luglio 1957, data del primo incotro tra John Lennon e Paul McCartney. A quei tempi Lennon aveva 17anni e suonava in un gruppo chiamato “The Quarryman” nel quale entrò presto a fare parte anche McCartney. In poco tempo vi fecero il loro ingresso anche George Harrison e Stuart Sutcliffe; così nel 1960 il nome del gruppo divenne il definitivo “The Beatles” col batterista Thomas Moore sostituito poco dopo da Pete Best. Fu un inizio in salita per il giovane gruppo con un Tour estero in Germania ad Amburgo finito presto a causa di problemi con la polizia del posto. Rientrati in patria conobbero il loro primo manager Brian Epstein che riuscì a fargli sostenere un provino con la Decca Records, provino sfortunato anche se gli fu data una seconda possibilita dalla EMI con la quale registrarono 3 brani tra i quali “Love me do”e il loro manager divenne George Martin. Nell’estate del ’62 Ringo Starr sostituì Pete Best.

Nel giro di poco incisero il loro primo singolo con “Love me do” e “p.s. I love you”, ma il successo arrivò dal loro secondo disco “Please Please Me” pubblicato nel 1963 col quale riuscirono a raggiungere la vetta delle classifiche. Segui un periodo di fama mondiale che li porto nel 1967 ad essere nominati -Membri dell’ordine dell impero Britannico- dalla regina ElisabettaII. In questo periodo pubblicarono il loro album più importante “sgt. pepper’s lonely hearts club band” che rivoluzionò il mondo del rock. Seguì un periodo di maturità accopagnato sempre da una enorme fama mondiale.

Nel 1968 John Lennon è molto preso dalla sua storia con l’artista giapponese Yoko Ono e si avvertono i primi disaccordi nel gruppo durante il tour Indiano. Ma il tutto viene risolto con la trovata “Get back” con la quale i Beatles vollero tornare alle origini e ristabilire l’ordine. nel 1969 a Londra ci fu la loro ultima apparizione al pubblico dopo la quale crcarono di produrre un ultimo album; questo fu “Let it be” che venne pubblicato poco dopo l’abbandono di McCartney del gruppo a causa del ocmportamneto scorretto di Lennon e Harrison.

John Lennon fu assassinato l’8 Dicembre 1980 a New York da un suo folle ammiratore, Mark David Chapman.

George Harrison morì il 29 novebre 2001 a Los Angeles a causa di un carcinoma.

Paul McCartney ha continuato la sua attività fondando gli “Wings” ed è ancora in attività.

Ringo Starr è ancora in vita ed ha girato alcuni film.
